Praise Be to God: Unissula Law Journal Attains International Reputation

The Unissula Law Journal, managed by the Faculty of Law at Unissula, has risen to Sinta 1, the rank of an internationally reputable journal. This was announced by the Rector of Unissula, Prof Dr Gunarto SH MH, on Friday (24/5/2024). The achievement is recorded in the notification of scholarly journal accreditation results for the first period of 2024 from the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research and Technology, dated 15 May 2024.

Prof Gunarto said the achievement is a gift from God that should be met with gratitude and much good work. "Praise be to God, this achievement is a source of pride and a great gift from God, for which we should all be grateful by doing much good," he said.

The journal's success in reaching Sinta 1 as an internationally reputable journal will further improve the academic climate at Unissula, particularly in scholarly research. It can also serve as one of the administrative requirements for candidates seeking a professorship. "We also congratulate the leadership of the Faculty of Law and the journal's editorial team on this proud achievement," he concluded.

The Dean of the Faculty of Law at Unissula, Dr Jawade Hafidz SH MH, expressed his gratitude for the support that enabled the journal to rise to Sinta 1 as an internationally reputable journal. "This is inseparable from the support, guidance and encouragement of the patron of the Sultan Agung Waqf Board Foundation (YBWSA), the Chair of YBWSA and the Rector, as well as the hard work of the journal's editorial team, who constantly strive to produce their best work," he said.

He further revealed that the journal's achievement was followed by the Daulat Hukum Journal, managed by the Master of Laws programme at the Faculty of Law, which rose from Sinta 4 to Sinta 3.

He explained that the accreditation notification from the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research and Technology reflects a high level of confidence in the Faculty of Law — confidence that must be maintained by upholding quality and a shared spirit of producing the very best work in research.
