Faculty of Law Strengthens International Cooperation with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia

The Faculty of Law at Unissula continues to strengthen its internationalisation programme, this time through cooperation with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). The cooperation was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding by the Rector of Unissula, Prof Dr Gunarto SH MH, and the Dean of the Faculty of Law at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Dr Nur Hafilah Musa, at the Kaligawe campus on Thursday (26/6/2025).
This was followed by a Memorandum of Agreement between the Dean of the Faculty of Law at Unissula, Dr Jawade Hafidz SH MH, and the International Relations officer of the UKM Faculty of Law, Dr Nur Atheefa Sufeena M.
Rector Prof Gunarto welcomed the cooperation, particularly for improving the quality of education, broadening horizons, strengthening research and building a global reputation.
The Dean, Dr Jawade, said the cooperation will relate to carrying out the three duties of higher education, covering education, community service, research and scholarly publication.
"We will carry this out in the form of joint collaboration allowing exchanges of students and lecturers, as well as collaboration in research, scholarly publication and community service," he explained.
In strengthening its internationalisation programme, Dr Jawade said, the Faculty of Law is establishing international classes in each of its study programmes: the Bachelor of Laws, the Master of Laws, the Notary Master's Programme and the Doctoral Programme in Law. The international classes open in the 2025/2026 academic year.
"Technically, the delivery of teaching is handled by each study programme," he explained.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Notary Master's Programme at Unissula, Dr Nanang Sri Darmadi SH, who chaired the event's organising committee, said the cooperation with UKM is a continuation — a renewal of existing cooperation.
"After the signing of the memoranda, we will move quickly to follow up on implementation regarding research collaboration, teaching and community service. We will discuss the technical arrangements, and we hope they can be realised as soon as possible," he explained.
