International Students from Malaysia, Egypt and Jordan Join the 81st Independence Day Celebrations at the Faculty of Law

The Faculty of Law at Universitas Islam Sultan Agung (Unissula) held a series of contests to mark the 81st anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia. The activities took place on the faculty grounds on Monday (17/8/2026).
Lecturers, education staff and students took part. International students also joined in, coming from Malaysia, Egypt and Jordan.
The Dean of the Faculty of Law at Unissula, Prof Dr Jawade Hafidz SH MH, said the event was a moment for strengthening togetherness. The whole academic community was invited to mingle without structural barriers. "We are not speaking in terms of structure, but speaking together. We are all the same," he said.
A variety of contests were held in a festival format, with participants free to choose the ones they liked. These included moving eels into bottles, fishing for crackers, a glass relay using balloons, a sarong relay and balloon popping.
Besides strengthening a sense of togetherness, the event also reinforced the international atmosphere at the Faculty of Law. The faculty is currently preparing a student mobility programme to Malaysia and Thailand.
The programme covers a two-week activity at Thammasat University in Thailand, followed by one month at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), and a one-semester programme at Multimedia University (MMU) in Malaysia.
The chair of the Independence Day committee at the Faculty of Law, Dr Muhammad Taufiq, expressed his appreciation to all participants. He also thanked the faculty leadership, professors, lecturers, education staff and students for their support.
