A New Building, A New Hope
Address by the Rector of Unissula, Prof Gunarto SH MH
The laying of the first stone was attended by the Rector of Unissula, the supervisory board, the board of patrons and the management of the Sultan Agung Waqf Board Foundation, together with the leadership of the university and the faculty. Present were the Chair of the YBWSA Supervisory Board, Dr Drs Ahmad Darodji MSi; supervisory board members Prof Dr dr Zaenal Muttaqin SpBS, Prof Abdul Djamil MA and Drs Musman Tholib. Also present were members of the YBWSA Board of Patrons, Drs Ali Mufiz MPA, Drs HM Boston and Habib Muhammad Assegaf.
In his address, Rector Prof Gunarto SH MH explained: "When the Faculty of Law was first established it had only one study programme. Today the faculty has four: the Bachelor of Laws, the Master of Laws, the Notary Master's Programme and the Doctoral Programme in Law — all of which hold Excellent and A accreditation, the highest awarded by BAN-PT."
The Rector also said: "The growing number of students year after year has made it urgently necessary to add to our buildings and construct a new one. Praise be to God, the construction of the new building can begin today."
The Chair of the YBWSA Board of Patrons, Drs Azhar Combo, said in his address: "We on the YBWSA board of patrons stress the importance of making the best use of the waqf assets entrusted to YBWSA by their donors. This is not only about extending the Faculty of Law building; further construction will soon follow for the Faculty of Nursing, the Faculty of Economics, the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Industrial Technology."
