Indexed in Scopus, the Unissula Law Journal Becomes a Reference for Lecturers and International Experts

The Dean of the Faculty of Law at Unissula, Dr Bambang Tri Bawono SH MH, said that all of the faculty's study programmes now hold Excellent accreditation.

"The faculty's four programmes — the Bachelor of Laws, the Master of Laws, the Notary Master's Programme and the Doctoral Programme in Law — hold the Excellent (Unggul) accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT), and international accreditation with a Premier rating from the Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges and Universities (ASIC)," he explained on Tuesday (25/7/2023).

The Dean spoke on the sidelines of a thanksgiving gathering for the Excellent accreditation and the faculty's Scopus-indexed international journal, together with an event providing support for orphans. The Unissula Law Journal has held international standing since being indexed in Scopus on 6 March 2023. Six other journals hold national accreditation: Jurnal Pembaharuan Hukum (Sinta 2), the International Journal of Law Reconstruction (Sinta 2), Jurnal AKTA (Sinta 2), the Law Development Journal (Sinta 3), Jurnal Daulat Hukum (Sinta 4) and the Sultan Agung Notary Law Review (Sinta 5).

The journals held by Unissula, he said, are used by lecturers to publish their papers. Scopus is one of the largest and highest-quality databases of journals and periodicals, so journals indexed there are of high quality.

As a result, quite a few of those who publish in Unissula's scholarly journals have gone on to become professors. The journals also add to students' reading on current developments in the law.

"The Faculty of Law at Unissula grows stronger by the day, and more trusted. That includes our journals, which have become a reference for publishing scholarly work," he explained.

The faculty is also a point of reference for other campuses, such as the University of Indonesia, which came to learn about the Deeds Laboratory and the Notary and Land Deed Office Management Laboratory in the Notary Master's Programme at Unissula.

Founded in 1963 and having produced 11,527 graduates, the Faculty of Law at Unissula is also a destination for lectures and comparative study visits from other campuses. The faculty has likewise conferred honorary professorships on a number of prominent figures in Indonesia. "We are always improving, with the support of the Rector and the Sultan Agung Waqf Board Foundation," he explained.
